The Friday (Jumu'ah) Islamic service is a Holy Qur'an (Koran)- mandated congregational assembly for Muslims to receive religious guidance. This guidance is focused on a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an and a commentary by the Islamic preacher, also known as the Imam (E-maam). CPO (Retired) Marshall Abuwi is the Imam for the Islamic services on Fort Gordon. Following the Quranic guidance, which also includes wisdom from the Prophet Muhammed, the assembly participates in a group prayer service, known as the Salat al Jumu'ah. The Friday (Jumu'ah) Islamic service is from 1330-1415 March through October, and 1230-1315 November through February. It is located at the Islamic Activities Center on Fort Gordon, in Building 38804, Academic Drive. Everyone is invited to attend this service.
